The entire existence is filled with nothing but His simple Oneness, may His name be blessed. He must completely annul in his mind and utterly ignore any other power or will, and his pristine thoughts must cleave only to the One master, blessed is He, and be subjugated to him. Thus will he, may he be blessed, render all powers and wills in the universe utterly powerless over him. Written by Rabbi Caim of Volozhin in his Sefer Nefesh HaCaim of (Section 3, Chapter 12), the above excerpt depicts essential principles of Jewish faith, applicable at all times, It is also known as a segulah (charm), which protects against tragedy and misfortune.
